The Gutman Trio is a classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences around the world for over two decades. The trio was founded in 1999 by three talented musicians: violinist Natalia Gutman, cellist Mischa Maisky, and pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja. The ensemble has since become one of the most renowned and respected chamber music groups in the world. Natalia Gutman, the founder and namesake of the ensemble, is a world-renowned violinist who has performed with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the world. She was born in Kazan, Russia, in 1942, and began playing the violin at the age of four. Maisky has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra. He has also won numerous awards, including the Diapason d'Or and the Grand Prix du Disque. Elisabeth Leonskaja, the pianist of the Gutman Trio, was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 1945. She began playing the piano at the age of six and went on to study at the Moscow Conservatory. Leonskaja has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra. She has also won numerous awards, including the Order of Merit of the Republic of Austria and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Gutman Trio's repertoire includes works by some of the greatest composers in the history of classical music, including Beethoven, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky. The ensemble is known for its passionate and expressive performances, which have earned it a devoted following around the world.
