Tanja Orning is a renowned cellist and contemporary music performer from Norway. She was born on August 22, 1976, in Oslo, Norway. Orning grew up in a family of musicians, and her parents were both professional musicians. Her father was a cellist, and her mother was a pianist. Orning started playing the cello at the age of six, and she showed exceptional talent from an early age. Orning received her formal music education at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, where she studied under the tutelage of Truls Mørk. She also studied with renowned cellists such as Anner Bylsma, Frans Helmerson, and Heinrich Schiff. Orning graduated from the academy with a master's degree in music performance.
