Artist Info
Mathias Zachariassen is a Danish classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a talented violinist and conductor. Born on May 22, 1987, in Copenhagen, Denmark, Zachariassen grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a violinist, and his mother was a pianist, so it was only natural that he would develop an interest in music at a young age. Zachariassen began playing the violin when he was just four years old, and he quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He studied under some of the best violin teachers in Denmark, including Professor Milan Vitek and Professor Serguei Azizian. He also attended masterclasses with renowned violinists such as Maxim Vengerov, Vadim Repin, and Pinchas Zukerman. In 2005, Zachariassen won first prize in the Danish National Violin Competition, which was a major milestone in his career. This led to many opportunities for him to perform as a soloist with orchestras throughout Denmark and Europe. He also began to receive invitations to perform at international music festivals, including the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in Germany and the Festival Internacional de Música de Cadaqués in Spain. One of the highlights of Zachariassen's career was his performance of the Beethoven Violin Concerto with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra in 2010. This was a particularly special moment for him, as it was the same orchestra that his father had played with for many years. The performance was a huge success, and it cemented Zachariassen's reputation as one of the most talented young violinists in Denmark. In addition to his work as a soloist, Zachariassen is also an accomplished conductor. He studied conducting with Professor Giordano Bellincampi at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, and he has conducted many orchestras throughout Denmark and Europe. He has also served as the principal conductor of the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra. Zachariassen has received many awards and honors throughout his career. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious Léonie Sonning Music Prize, which is considered one of the most important music prizes in Denmark. He was also named a Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark in 2015, in recognition of his contributions to Danish music. Despite his many accomplishments, Zachariassen remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to perform and conduct regularly, and he is always looking for new ways to challenge himself and grow as an artist. He is also passionate about music education, and he frequently gives masterclasses and workshops to young musicians. In conclusion, Mathias Zachariassen is a talented and accomplished classical music artist who has made a significant impact on the Danish music scene. His natural talent, dedication, and hard work have led to many opportunities for him to perform and conduct throughout Denmark and Europe. He is a true inspiration to young musicians everywhere, and his contributions to the world of classical music will be remembered for many years to come.More....
