He was born into a family of musicians, and his father was a well-known violinist. Jascha showed an interest in music from a young age and began playing the violin at the age of four. Jascha's family moved to the United States in 1938 to escape the growing threat of Nazi Germany. They settled in New York City, where Jascha continued his music education. He studied under some of the most prominent violin teachers of the time, including Ivan Galamian and Adolf Busch. In 1941, at the age of 17, Jascha made his debut with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. The performance was a huge success, and Jascha quickly gained a reputation as a talented and skilled violinist. He went on to perform with many other orchestras, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. Jascha's career continued to flourish throughout the 1940s and 1950s. He performed in many prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. He also made several recordings, which were highly acclaimed by critics and audiences alike.
