Lola Plumb was born on May 12, 1985, in Vienna, Austria. She was born into a family of musicians, with both her parents being professional classical musicians. Her father was a renowned cellist, and her mother was a pianist. Lola grew up surrounded by music and was exposed to classical music from a very young age. Lola started playing the piano when she was just four years old. Her mother was her first teacher, and she quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. Lola's parents recognized her potential and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. They enrolled her in the Vienna Conservatory of Music when she was just six years old. At the conservatory, Lola received rigorous training in classical piano. She studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in Austria, including Maria João Pires and Alfred Brendel. Lola's talent and dedication to her craft were evident from a young age, and she quickly became one of the top students at the conservatory. Lola's first major performance came when she was just ten years old. She was invited to perform at the Vienna State Opera House as part of a concert series featuring young prodigies. Lola's performance was a huge success, and she received a standing ovation from the audience. Over the next few years, Lola continued to perform at various venues across Austria. She won several local and regional piano competitions and was quickly gaining a reputation as one of the most promising young pianists in the country. In 2001, Lola was invited to perform at the Salzburg Festival, one of the most prestigious classical music festivals in the world. She was just sixteen years old at the time, and her performance was a huge success. She received rave reviews from critics and was hailed as a rising star in the classical music world. After her performance at the Salzburg Festival, Lola received several offers to study at some of the top music schools in Europe and the United States. She ultimately decided to attend the Juilliard School in New York City, one of the most prestigious music schools in the world. At Juilliard, Lola continued to hone her skills as a pianist. She studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in the world, including Emanuel Ax and Yoheved Kaplinsky. Lola's talent and dedication to her craft were evident, and she quickly became one of the top students at the school. In 2005, Lola won the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. The competition is held every four years and is open to pianists under the age of 30. Lola's performance was a huge success, and she received a standing ovation from the audience. She was the first Austrian pianist to win the competition. After winning the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Lola's career took off. She was invited to perform at some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Royal Albert Hall in London. She also performed with some of the top orchestras in the world, including the New York Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra. Lola has won several awards and accolades throughout her career.
