Fr. Bartolomeu de Olagué was a classical music composer born in 1740 in the town of Lleida, Spain. He was the son of a wealthy merchant and was raised in a family that valued education and the arts. From a young age, Olagué showed a great interest in music and began studying the piano and violin at the age of six. As a teenager, Olagué was sent to study at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, where he excelled in his studies and quickly gained a reputation as a talented musician. In the years that followed, Olagué continued to compose music and gained a reputation as one of the most talented composers of his time. His works were performed in churches and concert halls throughout Spain and Europe, and he was often invited to perform for royalty and other dignitaries. One of Olagué's most famous works is his Requiem Mass, which he composed in 1775. The piece is a solemn and moving tribute to the dead, with haunting melodies and intricate harmonies that capture the sorrow and grief of loss. Another notable work by Olagué is his Sonata for Violin and Piano, which he composed in 1782.
