The Ronald Binge Orchestra is a classical music ensemble that was founded in the United Kingdom in the mid-20th century. The orchestra is named after its founder, Ronald Binge, who was a British composer and arranger. Binge was born in Derby, England in 1910 and began his musical career as a pianist and arranger for various dance bands in the 1930s. In the 1940s, Binge began working for the Mantovani Orchestra, where he served as an arranger and composer. He is perhaps best known for his composition "Elizabethan Serenade," which was written in 1951 and became a popular piece of light classical music. Binge's work with the Mantovani Orchestra helped to establish him as a prominent figure in the world of classical music. In 1955, Binge decided to form his own orchestra, which he named the Ronald Binge Orchestra. The ensemble was made up of some of the finest musicians in the UK, and Binge served as the orchestra's conductor and arranger. The Ronald Binge Orchestra quickly gained a reputation for its high-quality performances of classical music, and it became a popular fixture on the UK music scene. Over the years, the Ronald Binge Orchestra has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the UK and around the world. The ensemble has played at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, and the Carnegie Hall in New York City, among many other venues. The orchestra has also performed for royalty, including Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. One of the highlights of the Ronald Binge Orchestra's career was its performance at the 1958 World's Fair in Brussels, Belgium. The orchestra was invited to represent the UK at the fair, and it performed a series of concerts that were attended by thousands of people. The Ronald Binge Orchestra's performances at the World's Fair helped to establish the ensemble as an international force in the world of classical music. In addition to its live performances, the Ronald Binge Orchestra has also recorded numerous albums over the years. The ensemble's recordings have been released on a variety of labels, including Decca, EMI, and RCA. Some of the orchestra's most popular recordings include "Elizabethan Serenade," "Sailing By," and "The Watermill."
