The choir is based in Seattle, Washington and is known for its exceptional performances of choral music from the Renaissance to the present day. Dr. Thomas founded Chamber Choir Credo with the goal of creating a professional-level choir that would perform a wide range of choral music, from the classics to contemporary works. The choir's name, "Credo," is Latin for "I believe," and reflects the ensemble's commitment to performing music that is meaningful and inspiring. Over the years, Chamber Choir Credo has attracted some of the finest choral singers in the Seattle area, many of whom have gone on to successful careers in music. The choir's current members include sopranos Sarah Mattox, Laura Loge, and Melissa Plagemann; altos Melissa Morgan, Sarah Ponder, and Sarah Kirsch; tenors Eric Neuville, Ross Hauck, and Brian Minnick; and basses Jonathan Silvia, Charles Robert Stephens, and Aaron Cain. Chamber Choir Credo has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the Pacific Northwest, including Benaroya Hall, St. James Cathedral, and the University of Washington's Meany Hall. The choir has also been invited to perform at numerous festivals and conferences, including the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Northwest Division Conference and the Chorus America Conference. One of the highlights of Chamber Choir Credo's career was their performance of Arvo Pärt's "Passio" in 2015. This monumental work, which tells the story of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, is considered one of the greatest choral works of the 20th century. Chamber Choir Credo's performance of "Passio" was hailed as a triumph, with critics praising the choir's precision, clarity, and emotional depth. Another notable performance by Chamber Choir Credo was their collaboration with the Seattle Symphony in 2017. The choir joined the symphony for a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, one of the most iconic works in the classical repertoire.
