Trio Mauro Giuliani is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2002. The ensemble is named after the Italian composer and guitarist Mauro Giuliani, who lived from 1781 to 1829. The trio consists of three members: Flavio Cucchi on guitar, Andrea Noferini on violin, and Luca Paccagnella on cello. Flavio Cucchi is an Italian guitarist who has won numerous awards and competitions, including the prestigious "Andrés Segovia" International Guitar Competition in Spain. He has performed in many countries around the world, including Italy, Spain, France, Germany, the United States, and Japan. Andrea Noferini is an Italian violinist who has also won many awards and competitions, including the "Premio Paganini" International Violin Competition in Italy. He has performed with many orchestras and ensembles, including the Orchestra della Toscana and the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi. Luca Paccagnella is an Italian cellist who has performed with many orchestras and ensembles, including the Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala in Milan and the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI. The trio's repertoire includes works by Mauro Giuliani, as well as other classical composers such as Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert, and Johann Sebastian Bach. They have also commissioned and premiered new works by contemporary composers such as Carlo Domeniconi and Angelo Gilardino. One of the highlights of Trio Mauro Giuliani's career was their performance at the 2006 Guitar Foundation of America International Convention and Competition in Columbus, Georgia. They were the first ensemble to win the competition in its 30-year history, and their performance was praised for its "virtuosity, musicality, and ensemble precision." The trio has also performed at many other festivals and venues around the world, including the Festival Internacional de Guitarra de Morelia in Mexico, the Festival de Música de Cámara de Aguascalientes in Mexico, and the Festival Internacional de Música de Cámara de San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. In addition to their performances, Trio Mauro Giuliani has also recorded several albums. Their debut album, "Trio Mauro Giuliani," was released in 2004 and features works by Giuliani, Beethoven, and Schubert. Their second album, "Trio Mauro Giuliani Live in Mexico," was recorded during their performance at the Festival Internacional de Guitarra de Morelia in 2007 and features works by Giuliani, Domeniconi, and Gilardino. Their most recent album, "Trio Mauro Giuliani Plays Bach," was released in 2019 and features arrangements of Bach's works for guitar, violin, and cello.
