The ATOS Trio was formed in 2003, when the three musicians met while studying at the Hannover University of Music, Drama and Media in Germany. They quickly discovered a shared passion for chamber music and began performing together regularly. The trio takes its name from the first letters of their first names: Annette, Thomas, and Stefan. From the beginning, the ATOS Trio was recognized for their exceptional musicianship and their ability to communicate with each other on stage. They quickly gained a reputation for their dynamic performances and their ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music they played. In 2007, the ATOS Trio won the prestigious Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award, which is given to outstanding piano trios from around the world. This award helped to launch the trio's international career and led to performances in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls. Since then, the ATOS Trio has performed at major venues and festivals around the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Wigmore Hall in London, and the Lincoln Center in New York. They have also collaborated with some of the world's leading musicians, including violinist Christian Tetzlaff and clarinetist Sabine Meyer. One of the highlights of the ATOS Trio's career was their performance at the 2010 Salzburg Festival, where they played a program of works by Schubert, Brahms, and Shostakovich. The performance was widely praised for its emotional depth and technical brilliance, and helped to establish the trio as one of the leading chamber music ensembles of their generation. In addition to their performances, the ATOS Trio is also committed to education and outreach. They have worked with young musicians in masterclasses and workshops around the world, and have also developed innovative programs to introduce classical music to new audiences.
