Orchestre des Pays de Savoie is a classical music ensemble based in the Savoie region of France. The orchestra was founded in 1984 by a group of musicians who were passionate about bringing classical music to the people of Savoie. Since then, the orchestra has grown in size and reputation, becoming one of the most respected ensembles in France. The early years of Orchestre des Pays de Savoie were marked by a dedication to community outreach and education. In 1990, Orchestre des Pays de Savoie made its debut at the prestigious Festival de Musique de Besançon, where it received critical acclaim for its performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. This performance marked a turning point for the orchestra, as it began to receive invitations to perform at other major festivals and concert halls throughout France and Europe. Over the years, Orchestre des Pays de Savoie has collaborated with many renowned soloists and conductors, including Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Renaud Capuçon, and Emmanuel Krivine. The orchestra has also commissioned and premiered works by contemporary composers such as Thierry Escaich and Guillaume Connesson.
