Mary Westbrook Geha was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Geha showed a natural talent for music and began taking piano lessons at the age of four. Geha's parents recognized her potential and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied piano under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Yoheved Kaplinsky. Geha's talent and dedication to her craft quickly became apparent, and she was soon recognized as one of the most promising young pianists of her generation. Throughout her career, Geha has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Royal Albert Hall. She has also collaborated with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of Geha's most notable performances was her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2005. She performed a program of works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt, which received critical acclaim from both audiences and critics alike. The New York Times praised Geha's "virtuosic technique and musical sensitivity," and hailed her as "a rising star in the world of classical music." Geha has also been the recipient of numerous awards and honors throughout her career. In 2007, she won the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, which is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world.
