Hobart's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Royal Academy of Music in London when he was just ten years old. He studied under some of the most renowned music teachers in the country and quickly became one of the academy's most promising students. Hobart's dedication and hard work paid off, and he graduated with honors at the age of eighteen. After completing his studies, Hobart began his professional career as a concert pianist. He made his debut performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 1984, where he received critical acclaim for his performance of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14. This performance marked the beginning of Hobart's successful career as a concert pianist. Over the years, Hobart performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, and the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. He was known for his exceptional technique and his ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music he played. Hobart's repertoire was vast and included works by some of the greatest composers in history, such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff. He was particularly known for his interpretations of Chopin's music, and his performances of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 and No. 2 were considered some of the best in the world.
