Mark Simpson is a British classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a composer and clarinetist. Born on May 28, 1988, in Liverpool, England, Simpson showed an early interest in music and began playing the clarinet at the age of six. He attended the Junior Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and later went on to study at the Royal College of Music in London. In 2006, at the age of 18, he became the first ever winner of both the BBC Young Musician of the Year and BBC Proms/Guardian Young Composer of the Year competitions.
