Elisabeth Cooymans was born on May 12, 1985, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Elisabeth showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Elisabeth's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking lessons with renowned violin teachers in the Netherlands and quickly gained recognition for her exceptional skills. At the age of 12, Elisabeth won first prize in the National Violin Competition for Young Talent, which marked the beginning of her professional career. Elisabeth continued to study music at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in violin performance. During her studies, she had the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned violinists in the world, including Maxim Vengerov and Itzhak Perlman. After completing her studies, Elisabeth began performing as a soloist with orchestras around the world. Some of her most notable performances include her debut with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, her performance at the Berlin Philharmonic, and her appearance at the BBC Proms in London. In addition to her solo performances, Elisabeth has also collaborated with some of the world's most renowned musicians. She has performed with pianist Lang Lang, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and conductor Gustavo Dudamel, among others. Elisabeth's talent has been recognized with numerous awards and honors throughout her career. In 2008, she won the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, which is considered one of the most prestigious violin competitions in the world. She has also been awarded the Dutch Music Prize, the highest honor for a musician in the Netherlands. Despite her success, Elisabeth remains humble and dedicated to her craft.
