Born on May 12, 1985, in Chicago, Illinois, Kocmieroski grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music at a very young age. His father was a jazz drummer, and his mother was a classical pianist, which inspired him to pursue a career in music. Kocmieroski began his musical journey by learning to play the drums at the age of six. He quickly developed a passion for percussion and started taking lessons from renowned percussionists in the Chicago area. He also participated in various music programs and competitions, which helped him hone his skills and gain valuable experience. After completing his high school education, Kocmieroski enrolled at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where he studied percussion performance under the guidance of Michael Burritt.
