Ensemble Prisma is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2012 by a group of young musicians who shared a passion for chamber music. The ensemble is based in Madrid, Spain, and is made up of four members: Pablo Hernández, violin; David Apellániz, cello; Juan Carlos Garvayo, piano; and José Luis Estellés, clarinet. The members of Ensemble Prisma are all accomplished musicians in their own right, with extensive experience performing as soloists and in other chamber music ensembles. They came together with the goal of exploring the rich repertoire of chamber music for clarinet, violin, cello, and piano, and of bringing their unique perspective and interpretation to this music. Since its founding, Ensemble Prisma has become one of the most highly regarded chamber music ensembles in Spain and beyond. The ensemble has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals in Europe, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, and the Salzburg Festival. One of the highlights of Ensemble Prisma's career was their performance at the 2014 Salzburg Festival, where they were invited to perform as part of the festival's "Young Artists" series. The ensemble's performance was widely praised for its technical precision, musicality, and emotional depth. Ensemble Prisma has also been recognized with numerous awards and honors for their performances and recordings. In 2015, the ensemble was awarded the "Best Classical Music Album" award at the Spanish Music Awards for their recording of Brahms' Clarinet Quintet. The ensemble has also been awarded the "Best Chamber Music Ensemble" award by the Spanish Association of Classical Music Critics. In addition to their performances and recordings, Ensemble Prisma is also committed to education and outreach.
