Krista Buckland Reisner is a Canadian classical pianist and educator. She was born in 1979 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and began playing the piano at the age of four. Her parents recognized her talent and enrolled her in private lessons with a local teacher. By the age of six, she was performing in public and winning competitions. Reisner continued her musical education at the University of Manitoba, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. She then went on to study at the University of Toronto, where she earned a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. Throughout her career, Reisner has been recognized for her exceptional talent and dedication to the art of classical piano. She has won numerous awards and competitions, including the prestigious Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition, the Canadian Music Competition, and the Shean Piano Competition. Reisner has also performed extensively throughout Canada and the United States, as well as in Europe and Asia. She has appeared as a soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and the National Arts Centre Orchestra. One of Reisner's most notable performances was her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2008. She performed a program of works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Ravel to critical acclaim. The New York Times praised her "impeccable technique and musicality," and called her performance "a revelation." In addition to her performing career, Reisner is also a dedicated educator. She has taught at the University of Manitoba, the University of Toronto, and the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music.
