Magdalena Lisak is a Polish classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and musical interpretations. Born on May 22, 1988, in Krakow, Poland, Lisak showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. She quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began studying with renowned teachers in Poland. Lisak's musical education began at the Karol Szymanowski Music School in Krakow, where she studied with Professor Maria Szwajger-Kułakowska. She later continued her studies at the Academy of Music in Krakow, where she earned her Master's degree with distinction under the guidance of Professor Andrzej Pikul. During her time at the Academy, Lisak also had the opportunity to study with distinguished pianists such as Paul Badura-Skoda, Fou Ts'ong, and Boris Berman. Lisak's talent and dedication to her craft quickly became apparent, and she began to receive recognition for her performances. In 2007, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Sanok, Poland, and in 2008, she was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition in Rome, Italy. These early successes paved the way for Lisak's career as a professional pianist. Since then, Lisak has performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States, captivating audiences with her technical prowess and emotional depth. She has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Krakow Philharmonic, the Sinfonia Varsovia, and the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. Lisak has also performed at prestigious venues such as the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Festival Hall in London, and the Salle Cortot in Paris. One of Lisak's most notable performances was her debut at the Chopin and His Europe International Music Festival in Warsaw in 2011. She performed Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor with the Sinfonia Varsovia under the baton of Jerzy Maksymiuk. Her performance was met with critical acclaim, with reviewers praising her technical skill and musical sensitivity. In addition to her performances as a soloist, Lisak is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has collaborated with renowned musicians such as cellist Andrzej Bauer and violinist Bartłomiej Nizioł, and has performed at chamber music festivals throughout Europe. Lisak's repertoire is diverse, ranging from the works of classical composers such as Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven to the music of contemporary composers such as Krzysztof Penderecki and Paweł Mykietyn. She is particularly known for her interpretations of the music of Frédéric Chopin, a fellow Polish pianist and composer. Lisak's performances of Chopin's works have been praised for their technical precision and emotional depth. Lisak's talent and hard work have been recognized with numerous awards and honors. In addition to her early competition wins, she has been awarded the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship, the Krystian Zimerman Scholarship, and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship. She has also been a finalist in the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. In addition to her performing career, Lisak is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught masterclasses at universities and music schools throughout Europe and Asia, and has served as a jury member for international piano competitions.
