Artist Info
Laurance Turner was born on May 12, 1985, in London, England. From a young age, he showed a keen interest in music, particularly classical music. His parents, both music enthusiasts, encouraged his passion and enrolled him in piano lessons when he was just five years old. Turner's talent for music quickly became apparent, and he began to excel in his piano studies. He also showed an interest in other instruments, including the violin and cello, and began to learn to play them as well. By the time he was a teenager, Turner had already begun to perform in public, playing at local concerts and recitals. In 2003, Turner was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music in London, one of the most prestigious music schools in the world. There, he studied under some of the most renowned classical musicians of the day, including pianist Stephen Hough and cellist Steven Isserlis. During his time at the Royal Academy of Music, Turner continued to hone his skills as a pianist, but he also began to explore other areas of music, including composition and conducting. He was particularly drawn to the works of the great composers of the Romantic era, such as Chopin, Liszt, and Brahms. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in 2007, Turner began to establish himself as a professional musician. He performed in concerts and recitals throughout the UK and Europe, and his reputation as a talented and versatile musician began to grow. One of Turner's most notable performances came in 2010, when he was invited to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of the BBC Proms, one of the world's most prestigious classical music festivals. Turner's performance was widely praised, and he was hailed as one of the most promising young musicians of his generation. In addition to his work as a performer, Turner also began to establish himself as a composer and conductor. He wrote several pieces of music, including a piano concerto that was premiered by the London Symphony Orchestra in 2012. He also conducted several orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra. Turner's talent and hard work were recognized with several awards and honors throughout his career. In 2011, he was awarded the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist Award, which recognizes outstanding young musicians in the UK. He was also a finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition in 2006. Despite his success, Turner remained humble and dedicated to his craft. He continued to practice and perform regularly, always striving to improve his skills and deepen his understanding of music. Tragically, Turner's promising career was cut short when he passed away suddenly in 2014 at the age of 29. His death was a shock to the classical music world, and many mourned the loss of such a talented and promising young musician. In the years since his passing, Turner's legacy has continued to live on. His recordings and performances continue to inspire and delight audiences around the world, and his music remains a testament to his talent and dedication to his craft. Though he may be gone, Laurance Turner's contributions to the world of classical music will never be forgotten.More....
