Artist Info
Ensemble L'aura Soave is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1996 in Italy. The ensemble is known for its performances of Baroque and Renaissance music, as well as its collaborations with contemporary composers. The founding members of Ensemble L'aura Soave were Fabio Antonio Falcone, who plays the viola da gamba, and Vittorio Ghielmi, who plays the viola da gamba and the viola da braccio. Both Falcone and Ghielmi had extensive experience playing early music, and they wanted to create an ensemble that would explore the rich repertoire of Baroque and Renaissance music. Over the years, Ensemble L'aura Soave has expanded to include a number of other musicians, including singers, instrumentalists, and composers. Some of the ensemble's main members include soprano Roberta Invernizzi, who has been praised for her "crystalline voice" and "impeccable technique," and harpsichordist Andrea Marcon, who has been called "one of the most exciting and innovative musicians of his generation." Ensemble L'aura Soave has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, and the Lincoln Center in New York. The ensemble has also been invited to perform at a number of international music festivals, including the Festival de Musique Baroque de Versailles, the Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht, and the Boston Early Music Festival. One of the highlights of Ensemble L'aura Soave's career was their performance of Monteverdi's L'Orfeo at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan in 2009. The production, which was directed by Robert Wilson, was praised for its "stunning visuals" and "powerful performances." The ensemble also received critical acclaim for their recording of L'Orfeo, which was released on the Naïve label in 2010. Ensemble L'aura Soave has also been recognized for their recordings of other Baroque and Renaissance works. In 2003, the ensemble won the Diapason d'Or award for their recording of Vivaldi's La Senna Festeggiante. They have also been nominated for several Grammy Awards, including Best Classical Vocal Performance for their recording of Handel's Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno. In addition to their performances and recordings, Ensemble L'aura Soave is also committed to promoting early music through education and outreach. The ensemble has conducted masterclasses and workshops for young musicians, and they have also collaborated with schools and community organizations to bring early music to a wider audience. Overall, Ensemble L'aura Soave is a world-renowned ensemble that has made significant contributions to the field of early music. With their innovative programming, powerful performances, and commitment to education and outreach, they continue to inspire audiences and musicians around the world.More....
