Oriana Concert Choir is a Canadian classical music choir that has been captivating audiences with their stunning performances for over 45 years. The choir was founded in 1976 by William Brown, a renowned Canadian conductor and composer, and has since become one of the most respected and celebrated choirs in the country. The choir is made up of approximately 60 auditioned singers, all of whom are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in choral music. The choir's repertoire spans a wide range of styles and periods, from Renaissance polyphony to contemporary works, and they are known for their impeccable musicianship and powerful performances. Over the years, Oriana Concert Choir has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in Canada and around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Sydney Opera House in Australia. They have also collaborated with some of the world's most renowned conductors and orchestras, including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. One of the highlights of Oriana Concert Choir's career was their performance at the 1992 World Choral Symposium in Vancouver, where they were the only Canadian choir to be invited to perform. Their performance was met with critical acclaim, and they were praised for their "exquisite blend of voices" and "impeccable intonation." In addition to their many performances, Oriana Concert Choir has also been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades over the years. In 1998, they were awarded the Healey Willan Grand Prize for their outstanding contribution to choral music in Canada. They have also won several awards at the prestigious CBC Radio National Competition for Amateur Choirs, including first place in the mixed-voice category in 1984 and 1990.
