Nachum Erlich was born on May 15, 1978, in Tel Aviv, Israel. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Nachum showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. As a child, Nachum was enrolled in the Tel Aviv Conservatory of Music, where he received formal training in classical piano. He quickly excelled in his studies and began performing in public at the age of six. By the time he was a teenager, Nachum had already won several prestigious competitions and had performed with some of the world's leading orchestras. In 1996, Nachum was awarded a scholarship to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. There, he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Emanuel Ax. During his time at Juilliard, Nachum continued to hone his skills and develop his unique style of playing. After graduating from Juilliard in 2000, Nachum began performing extensively throughout the United States and Europe. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented and innovative pianists of his generation. His performances were praised for their technical brilliance, emotional depth, and musicality. Over the years, Nachum has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra. He has also collaborated with many of the world's most renowned conductors, including Daniel Barenboim, Simon Rattle, and Zubin Mehta. In addition to his work as a performer, Nachum is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught master classes at some of the world's leading music schools, including the Juilliard School, the Royal Academy of Music in London, and the Conservatoire de Paris. Throughout his career, Nachum has received numerous awards and accolades for his work. In 2005, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who show great potential for a major career in music. He has also been awarded the Gilmore Artist Award, the Arthur Rubinstein Prize, and the Leonard Bernstein Award. Despite his many accomplishments, Nachum remains humble and dedicated to his craft.
