Alex Hendrych was born on May 15, 1985, in Prague, Czech Republic. He was born into a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Alex was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Alex's talent was quickly recognized, and he began performing in public at the age of six. He won his first competition at the age of eight and went on to win numerous awards throughout his childhood and teenage years. In 2003, Alex was accepted into the prestigious Prague Conservatory, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Jan Novotny. During his time at the conservatory, Alex continued to win awards and accolades, including first prize at the International Piano Competition in Brno in 2005. After graduating from the conservatory in 2007, Alex continued his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where he earned his master's degree in piano performance. During this time, he also began performing internationally, with concerts in Germany, Austria, and Italy. In 2010, Alex was invited to perform at the prestigious Chopin Festival in Warsaw, Poland. His performance was met with critical acclaim, and he was invited back to perform at the festival the following year. In 2012, Alex was awarded the prestigious Prague Spring International Music Festival Prize, which recognizes outstanding young musicians. This award helped to further establish Alex as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. Over the years, Alex has continued to perform at major venues and festivals around the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. He has also collaborated with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. In addition to his performing career, Alex is also a dedicated teacher and has taught at several music schools and conservatories around the world. He is passionate about passing on his knowledge and experience to the next generation of musicians. Throughout his career, Alex has remained committed to his roots in Prague and continues to perform regularly in his hometown. He is also a strong advocate for the arts and has worked to promote classical music and support young musicians through various charitable organizations.
