Il Vero Modo is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2015 by a group of talented musicians who shared a passion for Baroque music. The ensemble is based in Italy and is known for its unique approach to performing early music. The founding members of Il Vero Modo were violinist Stefano Barneschi, cellist Gaetano Nasillo, and harpsichordist Andrea Friggi. All three musicians had extensive experience performing Baroque music and had worked together on various projects in the past. They decided to form Il Vero Modo as a way to explore the rich repertoire of early music and to bring their unique interpretation of this music to audiences around the world. Il Vero Modo quickly gained a reputation for its innovative approach to performing Baroque music. The ensemble's members were not content to simply play the music as it had been played for centuries. Instead, they sought to bring a fresh perspective to the music, incorporating elements of improvisation and experimentation into their performances. One of the highlights of Il Vero Modo's early career was their performance at the 2016 Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht, Netherlands. The festival is one of the most prestigious early music festivals in the world, and Il Vero Modo's performance was widely praised for its energy, creativity, and technical skill. Since then, Il Vero Modo has performed at numerous festivals and concert halls around the world, including the Boston Early Music Festival, the Festival de Musique Baroque de Lamèque in Canada, and the Festival de Música Antiga de Barcelona. The ensemble has also released several critically acclaimed recordings, including their debut album, "Sonate a tre," which was released in 2017. Il Vero Modo's current members include Stefano Barneschi on violin, Gaetano Nasillo on cello, Andrea Friggi on harpsichord, and soprano Roberta Mameli. Mameli joined the ensemble in 2018 and has since become an integral part of their performances, bringing her own unique voice and interpretation to the music. In addition to their performances and recordings, Il Vero Modo has also been recognized with several awards and honors. In 2017, the ensemble was awarded the prestigious Premio Abbiati, which is considered one of the highest honors in the Italian classical music world. The award recognized Il Vero Modo's "innovative and passionate approach to early music." Il Vero Modo's success can be attributed to their dedication to exploring the rich and varied repertoire of early music, as well as their willingness to experiment and take risks in their performances. Their unique approach to Baroque music has earned them a devoted following around the world and has helped to bring this music to new audiences.
