Born in Toronto, Canada, on August 17, 1965, Hall grew up in a family that was passionate about music. Her mother was a pianist, and her father was a music lover who introduced her to classical music at a young age. Hall's love for music grew as she began to take piano lessons at the age of six. However, it was not until she was in high school that she discovered her true passion for singing. She began to take voice lessons and quickly realized that she had a natural talent for singing. After completing high school, Hall went on to study music at the University of Toronto, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance. She then went on to pursue a Master of Music degree at the University of Western Ontario. Throughout her studies, Hall received numerous awards and scholarships, including the prestigious Canada Council for the Arts grant, which allowed her to study in Europe. She spent a year in Germany studying with renowned vocal coach Hartmut Höll, which proved to be a turning point in her career. Upon returning to Canada, Hall began to perform professionally, quickly gaining recognition for her beautiful voice and captivating stage presence. She made her debut with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in 1993, performing Handel's Messiah, which was met with critical acclaim. Over the years, Hall has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras and conductors, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed at some of the world's most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Sydney Opera House. One of Hall's most notable performances was her portrayal of the role of Susanna in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera in 2006.
