Arnulf von Arnim is a renowned classical pianist and conductor, born on August 28, 1955, in Munich, Germany. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a conductor and his mother a pianist. Arnim started playing the piano at the age of four and showed exceptional talent from an early age. Arnim received his formal education in music at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Hugo Steurer. He later continued his studies with Maria João Pires in Portugal and with Claudio Arrau in Switzerland. In 1974, Arnim won the first prize at the International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy, which marked the beginning of his successful career as a pianist. He has collaborated with many leading orchestras, such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, and the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. Arnim's repertoire is vast and includes works by some of the greatest composers in history, such as Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Schumann, and Brahms. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Franz Liszt, a composer he has studied extensively and whose music he has performed in numerous concerts. In addition to his career as a pianist, Arnim is also a respected conductor. He has conducted many orchestras, including the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
