He performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States, earning critical acclaim for his performances. One of the highlights of Einar's career was his performance at the 1964 Edinburgh International Festival, where he performed a program of works by Icelandic composers. His performance was well-received, and he was praised for his technical skill and musical interpretation. Einar also had a successful career as a composer, with his works being performed by orchestras and ensembles around the world.
