Elizabeth Pauly was born on May 15, 1985, in New York City. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Pauly showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Pauly's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking private lessons with renowned violinists and attended the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division. At the age of 16, Pauly was accepted into the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where she studied with the legendary violinist, Jascha Heifetz. During her time at Curtis, Pauly won several awards and competitions, including the Philadelphia Orchestra's Albert M. Greenfield Competition and the Aspen Music Festival's Violin Concerto Competition. She also performed as a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. After graduating from Curtis, Pauly continued her studies at the Juilliard School, where she earned a Master of Music degree. She also studied with Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman at the Perlman Music Program. She performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
