The choir was founded in 1969 by the late Mrs. Margaret Green, who was a music teacher at Highcliffe School in Dorset, England. Mrs. Green had a passion for choral music and wanted to create a choir that would provide an opportunity for young children to develop their musical talents and perform in public. The choir started with just 20 members, but it quickly grew in popularity and size. Today, the choir has over 100 members, ranging in age from 7 to 18 years old. The choir is made up of children from various schools in the area, and they rehearse weekly at Highcliffe School. Over the years, the Highcliffe Junior Choir has performed at numerous prestigious venues and events, including the Royal Albert Hall, St. Paul's Cathedral, and the London Palladium. They have also performed for the Queen and other members of the royal family on several occasions. One of the highlights of the choir's career was their performance at the Royal Variety Performance in 1983.
