Yu-Chien Tseng is a Taiwanese classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a violinist. Born on August 26, 1994, in Tainan, Taiwan, Tseng began playing the violin at the age of four. His parents, both music teachers, recognized his talent early on and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. Tseng's early training was under the guidance of his mother, who was a violin teacher. He later studied with Professor Li-Chun Su at the National Tainan Junior College of Performing Arts. In 2009, Tseng moved to the United States to study at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he studied with Aaron Rosand and Ida Kavafian. Tseng's talent was quickly recognized, and he began to win awards and competitions. In 2011, he won first prize at the Singapore International Violin Competition, and in 2012, he won first prize at the Sarasate International Violin Competition in Spain. These wins helped to launch his career and led to invitations to perform with major orchestras around the world. One of Tseng's most notable performances was in 2015, when he performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin. The performance was part of the orchestra's subscription series and was highly praised by critics.
