Artist Info
Goska Isphording is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a harpsichordist, pianist, and contemporary music performer. Born in Poland, Isphording grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to classical music from a young age. Her father was a composer and her mother was a pianist, and they both encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Isphording began her musical education at the age of six, studying piano with her mother. She quickly showed a talent for the instrument and went on to study at the Music Academy in Krakow. After completing her studies there, she moved to Germany to continue her education at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. During her time in Cologne, Isphording discovered her love for the harpsichord and began to focus on the instrument. She studied with renowned harpsichordist Ketil Haugsand and went on to complete a master's degree in harpsichord performance. Isphording's career as a performer began to take off in the early 2000s, when she started to gain recognition for her performances of contemporary music. She has worked with many composers, including Helmut Lachenmann, Karlheinz Stockhausen, and Rebecca Saunders, and has premiered numerous works written specifically for her. One of Isphording's most notable performances was her 2010 performance of Stockhausen's "Kontakte" at the Donaueschingen Festival. The performance was widely praised for its technical precision and emotional depth, and cemented Isphording's reputation as one of the leading contemporary music performers of her generation. Isphording has also gained recognition for her performances of Baroque music, particularly the works of J.S. Bach. She has recorded several albums of Bach's keyboard music, including "The Well-Tempered Clavier" and the Goldberg Variations. In addition to her work as a performer, Isphording is also a respected teacher and has taught at several music academies in Europe. She is currently a professor of harpsichord at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. Isphording has received numerous awards and honors throughout her career, including the German Record Critics' Award and the Echo Klassik Award. She was also awarded the prestigious German Music Prize in 2017, in recognition of her contributions to the world of classical music. Despite her many accomplishments, Isphording remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to perform and record regularly, and is always seeking out new challenges and opportunities to grow as a musician.More....
