Kristian Gantriis is a Danish-American classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a tenor singer and conductor. Born on May 22, 1981, in Copenhagen, Denmark, Gantriis grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a professional pianist, and his mother was a singer. From a young age, Gantriis showed a keen interest in music and began taking piano lessons at the age of five. Gantriis' parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began singing in choirs and performing in local productions of musicals. At the age of 16, he was accepted into the Royal Danish Academy of Music, where he studied voice and conducting. During his time at the academy, Gantriis began to make a name for himself as a tenor singer. He won several awards and competitions, including the prestigious Léonie Sonning Music Prize in 2005.
