Yuri Shkliar is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. Born on August 15, 1961, in Kiev, Ukraine, Shkliar showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. His parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. Shkliar's musical education began at the Kiev Special Music School for Gifted Children, where he studied under the guidance of Professor Valentina Kozlova. He later continued his studies at the Kiev State Conservatory, where he received his diploma with honors in 1984. During his time at the conservatory, Shkliar studied under the tutelage of Professor Lev Vlasenko, a renowned pianist and teacher. After completing his studies, Shkliar began his professional career as a concert pianist. He quickly gained recognition for his exceptional talent and was invited to perform at various prestigious venues around the world. Some of his most notable performances include his debut at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory in 1986, his performance at the Carnegie Hall in New York in 1990, and his performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 1992. Shkliar's repertoire includes works by some of the greatest composers in history, including Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Sergei Rachmaninoff, a Russian composer and pianist who is widely regarded as one of the greatest pianists of all time. In addition to his performances, Shkliar has also been recognized for his contributions to the world of music. He has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including the First Prize at the International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy, in 1985, the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition in Vercelli, Italy, in 1986, and the First Prize at the International Piano Competition in Jaen, Spain, in 1988. Shkliar has also been invited to serve as a judge at various international piano competitions, including the International Piano Competition in Santander, Spain, and the International Piano Competition in Valencia, Spain. He has also been invited to give masterclasses at various music schools and conservatories around the world, including the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Juilliard School in New York. Despite his success, Shkliar remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to perform and teach, sharing his love of music with audiences and students around the world.
