Giuseppe Zecchillo was born on May 12, 1985, in Naples, Italy. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a pianist and his mother a singer. From a young age, Zecchillo showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Zecchillo's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with renowned pianist and composer, Antonio Di Cristofano, at the age of six. Under Di Cristofano's guidance, Zecchillo developed his skills and began performing in public at the age of eight. At the age of ten, Zecchillo won his first piano competition, the "Premio Città di Napoli," which was a local competition in his hometown. This win marked the beginning of his career as a professional musician. Zecchillo continued to win competitions and gain recognition for his talent throughout his teenage years. In 2001, he won the "Premio Nazionale delle Arti" competition, which was a national competition in Italy. This win brought him to the attention of the Italian music community and led to his first major performance at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples. In 2003, Zecchillo was awarded a scholarship to study at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. He moved to the United States and began studying under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Yoheved Kaplinsky. During his time at Juilliard, Zecchillo continued to win competitions and gain recognition for his talent. In 2005, he won the "Concorso Internazionale di Musica" competition in Rome, which was an international competition featuring pianists from around the world. Zecchillo's talent and hard work paid off in 2007 when he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant. This grant is awarded to young musicians who show exceptional talent and promise in their field. The grant provided Zecchillo with financial support and helped to launch his career as a professional musician. Since receiving the Avery Fisher Career Grant, Zecchillo has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Royal Albert Hall in London. Zecchillo's performances have been praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. He is known for his ability to bring out the nuances and subtleties of the music he plays, and for his ability to connect with audiences on a deep level. In addition to his performances, Zecchillo is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught at the Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music, and has given masterclasses around the world.
