Jan Van der Roost is a Belgian composer of classical music, born on February 1, 1956, in Duffel, Belgium. He is known for his works for wind orchestra, brass band, and symphony orchestra. Van der Roost started his musical journey at a young age, learning to play the piano and the trumpet. He later studied music at the Lemmensinstituut in Leuven, Belgium, where he received a degree in music theory, trumpet, and chamber music.
