Collegium St. Emmeram is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2005 in Regensburg, Germany. The ensemble is named after the St. Emmeram's Abbey, which is a Benedictine monastery located in Regensburg. The founding members of the ensemble were all students at the University of Regensburg, and they shared a passion for classical music. The main members of Collegium St. Emmeram are violinists Johannes Fleischmann and Christoph Koncz, violist Andreas Fleischmann, cellist Maximilian Hornung, and pianist Herbert Schuch. All of the members of the ensemble are highly accomplished musicians who have won numerous awards and competitions. One of the highlights of Collegium St. Emmeram's career was their performance at the Salzburg Festival in 2008. The ensemble performed Mozart's Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor, K. 478, and received rave reviews for their performance. The Salzburger Nachrichten praised the ensemble's "excellent ensemble playing" and "perfectly balanced sound." In 2010, Collegium St. Emmeram won the Echo Klassik award for their recording of Mozart's Piano Quartets. The Echo Klassik is one of the most prestigious awards in the classical music industry, and winning it is a significant achievement. Another highlight of Collegium St. Emmeram's career was their performance at the Rheingau Musik Festival in 2012. The ensemble performed Schumann's Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 44, and received a standing ovation from the audience.
