Duetto Giocondo is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2010 by two talented musicians, soprano Maria Grazia Schiavo and pianist Alessandro Viale. Maria Grazia Schiavo was born in Naples, Italy, and began her musical studies at a young age. She studied at the Conservatory of Naples and later at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. She has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including the Royal Opera House in London, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. Alessandro Viale was born in Turin, Italy, and began his musical studies at the age of six. He studied at the Conservatory of Turin and later at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He has performed with some of the most renowned orchestras in the world, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. The two musicians met while studying at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and quickly discovered a shared passion for classical music. They began performing together and soon realized that they had a unique chemistry and musical connection. They decided to form Duetto Giocondo, with the goal of exploring and interpreting classical music in a new and innovative way. Duetto Giocondo's repertoire includes works by some of the greatest composers in history, including Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, and Brahms. They are known for their exceptional interpretations of these works, which are characterized by their emotional depth, technical precision, and musical sensitivity. They performed a program of works by Mozart, including his famous "Laudate Dominum" from the Vesperae solennes de confessore, which was met with thunderous applause from the audience. They were awarded the prestigious Premio Abbiati in 2014, which is considered one of the highest honors in the Italian classical music world.
