Coral Sant Jordi is a classical music ensemble based in Barcelona, Spain. The group was founded in 1963 by Lluís Vilamajó, a renowned conductor and composer. Vilamajó had a vision of creating a choir that would perform a wide range of classical music, from Renaissance to contemporary works. He gathered a group of talented singers and musicians, and Coral Sant Jordi was born. The ensemble quickly gained a reputation for its high-quality performances and innovative programming. Vilamajó was known for his meticulous attention to detail and his ability to bring out the best in his singers. Under his leadership, Coral Sant Jordi became one of the most respected choirs in Spain. One of the highlights of Coral Sant Jordi's career was their performance at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. The ensemble was chosen to perform the Catalan national anthem at the opening ceremony, in front of a global audience of millions. In 1972, they won the first prize at the International Choral Competition in Arezzo, Italy.
