Anna Baadsvik was a Norwegian composer born on August 22, 1989, in Bergen, Norway. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her father, Øystein Baadsvik, being a renowned tuba player and her mother, Tone Kummervold, a pianist. From a young age, Anna was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Anna's passion for music continued to grow, and she went on to study composition at the Grieg Academy in Bergen, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees. During her studies, Anna was mentored by renowned composers such as Henrik Hellstenius and Bjørn Kruse, who helped shape her unique style. One of Anna's most notable works is her piano concerto, "The Light Within," which was premiered by the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra in 2017. The concerto is a tribute to Anna's mother, who passed away from cancer in 2015.
