Role:EnsembleH2 Quartet is a classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their unique blend of classical and contemporary music since their formation in 2002. The quartet is made up of four talented musicians, including violinists Matt Albert and Mark Chien, violist John McGrosso, and cellist Alex Greenbaum. The birth of H2 Quartet can be traced back to the year 2002, when the four musicians first met while studying at the University of Texas at Austin. They quickly discovered a shared passion for classical music and began performing together as a quartet. Over the years, the quartet has grown and evolved, developing a distinctive sound that blends classical music with elements of jazz, rock, and other genres. One of the highlights of H2 Quartet's career was their performance at the 2014 South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival in Austin, Texas. The quartet was invited to perform as part of the festival's classical music showcase, which featured some of the most innovative and exciting classical music acts from around the world. H2 Quartet's performance was a huge success, earning them critical acclaim and a growing fan base. In addition to their performance at SXSW, H2 Quartet has also performed at a number of other prestigious venues and events. They have played at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., the Ravinia Festival in Chicago, and the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado, among others. They have also collaborated with a number of other musicians and artists, including jazz pianist Aaron Diehl and composer Michael Gordon. H2 Quartet has received numerous awards and accolades for their work over the years. In 2010, they were awarded the prestigious Chamber Music America Residency Partnership Grant, which allowed them to work with students and community members in underserved areas of Texas. They have also been recognized by the Austin Critics Table Awards, the Austin Chronicle Music Awards, and the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). Despite their success, H2 Quartet remains committed to pushing the boundaries of classical music and exploring new and innovative ways to connect with audiences. They continue to perform regularly, both in the United States and abroad, and are always looking for new opportunities to share their music with the world. With their unique blend of classical and contemporary music, H2 Quartet is sure to remain a force in the classical music world for years to come.More....
