Cordevento is a classical music ensemble that specializes in performing music from the Baroque era. The ensemble was founded in 2004 by Erik Bosgraaf, a Dutch recorder player, and Izhar Elias, a Dutch guitarist. The two musicians had previously collaborated on several projects and decided to form a permanent ensemble that would focus on exploring the rich repertoire of Baroque music. The name Cordevento is derived from the Italian words "corde" (strings) and "vento" (wind), which reflects the ensemble's instrumentation.
