Brad Prevedoros is a Canadian classical guitarist and composer who has been captivating audiences with his music for over three decades. Born in Victoria, British Columbia in 1962, Prevedoros grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a young age. His father was a jazz pianist and his mother was a singer, and they both encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. Prevedoros began playing the guitar at the age of 12 and quickly fell in love with the instrument. He studied with local guitar teachers and eventually went on to study at the University of Victoria, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in classical guitar performance. After completing his studies, Prevedoros began performing professionally and quickly gained a reputation as a talented and versatile musician. He has performed in a wide variety of settings, from intimate solo concerts to large-scale orchestral performances. One of the highlights of Prevedoros' career was his performance at the 1988 Olympic Winter Games in Calgary, Alberta. He was selected to perform at the Olympic Arts Festival, where he played a solo guitar piece that was broadcast to millions of viewers around the world. In addition to his live performances, Prevedoros has also released several albums of his own music. His debut album, "Mosaic," was released in 1990 and received critical acclaim for its beautiful melodies and intricate guitar work. He has since released several more albums, including "In Motion" and "The Clearing," which showcase his unique blend of classical, jazz, and world music influences. Prevedoros has also been recognized for his contributions to the music world. In 1996, he was awarded the prestigious Canada Council for the Arts grant, which allowed him to travel and study music in Spain and Portugal. He has also been a finalist in the National Guitar Competition and has received numerous awards for his compositions. Despite his success, Prevedoros remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to perform regularly and is always looking for new ways to push the boundaries of classical guitar music. His passion for music is evident in every note he plays, and he is truly a master of his craft.
