David Chevallier is a French classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a guitarist, composer, and improviser. Born in 1976 in Nantes, France, Chevallier grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a young age. His father was a jazz pianist, and his mother was a classical pianist, so he was surrounded by music from both genres. Chevallier began playing the guitar at the age of 10 and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He studied classical guitar at the Conservatoire de Nantes and later at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where he earned a degree in classical guitar performance. After completing his studies, Chevallier began performing as a soloist and chamber musician, playing in various festivals and concert halls throughout Europe. He quickly gained a reputation for his virtuosic playing and his ability to blend different musical styles and genres. In addition to his work as a performer, Chevallier is also a prolific composer and improviser. He has written music for solo guitar, chamber ensembles, and orchestras, and his compositions have been performed by some of the world's leading musicians. One of Chevallier's most notable performances was his debut at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal in 2006. He performed a solo guitar concert that was widely praised for its technical virtuosity and musicality. He has taught at the Conservatoire de Nantes and the Conservatoire de Rennes, and he has given masterclasses and workshops throughout Europe.
