Simona Venslovaitė is a Lithuanian classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a pianist and chamber musician. Born on May 22, 1987, in Vilnius, Lithuania, Simona showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Her parents, who were both music teachers, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Simona's early musical education was at the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Art in Vilnius, where she studied with renowned pianist and pedagogue Rasa Biveinienė. She later went on to study at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance under the guidance of Professor Petras Geniušas. During her studies, Simona participated in numerous international piano competitions and won several awards, including first prize at the International Piano Competition in Vilnius (2005) and the International Piano Competition in Kaunas (2006). She also received the prestigious Lithuanian National Culture and Art Scholarship for Young Artists in 2008. After completing her studies, Simona continued to perform extensively as a soloist and chamber musician, both in Lithuania and abroad. She has collaborated with many renowned musicians, including violinist Gidon Kremer, cellist David Geringas, and pianist Andrius Žlabys. She has also performed with various orchestras, including the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, and the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra. One of Simona's most notable performances was at the 2010 Vilnius Piano Festival, where she performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Robertas Šervenikas. Her performance was widely praised for its technical brilliance and emotional depth. In addition to her performances, Simona is also a dedicated music educator. She has taught piano at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Art, and has given masterclasses in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Simona's talent and dedication to music have earned her numerous accolades and awards throughout her career. In 2012, she was awarded the Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize, the highest honor given to artists in Lithuania. She was also named a laureate of the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts in 2017. Today, Simona continues to perform and teach, inspiring a new generation of musicians with her passion and artistry. Her contributions to the world of classical music have made her a beloved figure in Lithuania and beyond, and her legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations of musicians for years to come.
