La Tempestad is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2008 by Silvia Márquez Chulilla, a Spanish violinist. The ensemble is based in Valencia, Spain, and is known for its innovative and dynamic performances of Baroque and Classical music. The founding of La Tempestad was inspired by Silvia Márquez Chulilla's desire to create a chamber music ensemble that would explore the rich and diverse repertoire of Baroque and Classical music. She assembled a group of talented musicians who shared her passion for this music, and together they began to develop a unique and distinctive sound. The main members of La Tempestad are Silvia Márquez Chulilla (violin), Guillermo Turina (violin), Jorge Jiménez (viola), Pablo Zapico (theorbo), and Daniel Zapico (harpsichord). Each member of the ensemble is a highly skilled and accomplished musician, with extensive experience performing in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls and festivals. One of the highlights of La Tempestad's career was their performance at the Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada in 2010. The ensemble received critical acclaim for their interpretation of works by Bach, Vivaldi, and Handel, and their performance was described as "exquisite" and "inspired." In 2012, La Tempestad released their debut album, "La Tempestad," which featured works by Bach, Vivaldi, and Telemann. The album received widespread critical acclaim and was praised for its "impeccable musicianship" and "sensitive interpretation." In 2014, La Tempestad was awarded the Premio Nacional de Música, one of the most prestigious awards in the Spanish music industry. The award recognized the ensemble's outstanding contributions to the promotion and dissemination of Baroque and Classical music in Spain and around the world. Since their founding, La Tempestad has performed at some of the world's most renowned concert halls and festivals, including the Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada, the Festival de Música Antigua de Úbeda y Baeza, and the Festival de Música Antigua de Aranjuez. They have also collaborated with some of the world's leading musicians and ensembles, including Jordi Savall, Philippe Jaroussky, and Les Arts Florissants. La Tempestad's repertoire includes works by some of the greatest composers of the Baroque and Classical periods, including Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, Telemann, and Mozart. They are known for their innovative and dynamic interpretations of these works, which often incorporate elements of improvisation and experimentation. In addition to their performances, La Tempestad is also committed to music education and outreach. They regularly conduct workshops and masterclasses for young musicians, and they have collaborated with schools and community organizations to bring classical music to a wider audience. Overall, La Tempestad is a highly respected and acclaimed classical music ensemble that has made significant contributions to the promotion and dissemination of Baroque and Classical music in Spain and around the world. Their innovative and dynamic performances, combined with their commitment to music education and outreach, have made them one of the most important and influential ensembles in the Spanish music scene.More....
