United KingdomBirth:January 20, 1971 in Frodsham, Cheshire, EnglandGenre:FilmGary Barlow is a British singer, songwriter, and composer who was born on January 20, 1971, in Frodsham, Cheshire, England. He is best known as the lead vocalist of the pop group Take That, which he formed in 1990. However, he has also made a name for himself as a composer of classical music. Barlow grew up in a musical family and began playing the piano at a young age. He attended Weaver Vale High School in Cheshire, where he formed a band called "The Cutest Rush" with his friends. After leaving school, he worked as a truck driver and a security guard while pursuing his music career. In 1990, Barlow formed Take That with fellow band members Robbie Williams, Mark Owen, Howard Donald, and Jason Orange. The group quickly became one of the most successful pop acts of the 1990s, selling over 45 million records worldwide. Barlow was the primary songwriter for the group, and his compositions included hits such as "Back for Good," "Pray," and "Never Forget." In addition to his work with Take That, Barlow has also released several solo albums, including "Open Road" (1997) and "Twelve Months, Eleven Days" (1999). He has also written songs for other artists, including "So Help Me Girl" for Joe Diffie and "Lie to Me" for Johnny Hates Jazz. In recent years, Barlow has turned his attention to composing classical music. In 2012, he was commissioned by the Queen to write a song for her Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The resulting piece, "Sing," was performed by a choir of Commonwealth children and became a hit in the UK. Barlow has also composed several works for the stage, including the musical "The Girls," which premiered in 2015. The show, which was based on the true story of a group of women who posed nude for a charity calendar, featured music and lyrics by Barlow and his Take That bandmate, Tim Firth. In 2018, Barlow released his first full-length classical album, "Music Played by Humans." The album featured collaborations with a number of classical musicians, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Voices choir. The album included original compositions by Barlow, as well as covers of classical pieces such as "Für Elise" by Ludwig van Beethoven and "Moonlight Sonata" by Franz Liszt. Barlow's classical compositions have been praised for their melodic beauty and emotional depth. His music often incorporates elements of pop and rock, as well as classical influences from composers such as Beethoven and Mozart. Despite his success as a pop star and composer, Barlow has faced his share of personal challenges. In 1999, he was diagnosed with clinical depression and took a break from music to focus on his mental health. He has also struggled with weight issues and has been open about his struggles with diet and exercise. Despite these challenges, Barlow has continued to pursue his passion for music and has become a respected composer in the classical world. His ability to bridge the gap between pop and classical music has earned him a unique place in the music industry, and his compositions continue to inspire and move audiences around the world.More....
