He studied music at the State University of New York at Oswego and later at the Manhattan School of Music. Bisio's career as a professional musician began in the 1980s, when he played with various jazz and avant-garde ensembles in New York City. He quickly gained a reputation as a versatile and innovative bassist, known for his virtuosic technique and his ability to blend different musical styles and traditions.
