The University of Manitoba Singers is a classical music ensemble based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Founded in 1946, the ensemble has a rich history of excellence in choral music and has become one of the most respected choirs in Canada. The ensemble was founded by Dr. Elmer Iseler, who served as the conductor until 1956. Under his leadership, the choir quickly gained a reputation for excellence and was invited to perform at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto in 1948. This performance was a major milestone for the ensemble and helped to establish its reputation as one of the top choirs in Canada. Over the years, the University of Manitoba Singers has had many talented members, including some who have gone on to become well-known musicians in their own right. One of the most notable members of the ensemble was Victor Feldbrill, who served as the conductor from 1958 to 1963. Feldbrill went on to become one of Canada's most respected conductors and was awarded the Order of Canada in 1985. Cooper went on to become the conductor of the Orpheus Choir of Toronto and was awarded the Order of Canada in 2013.
