Paradiso Musicale is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2015 by a group of talented musicians who shared a passion for performing and promoting classical music. The ensemble is based in New York City and has quickly gained a reputation for its exceptional performances and innovative programming. The founding members of Paradiso Musicale include violinist Maria Rodriguez, cellist David Lee, and pianist Sarah Kim. All three musicians had extensive experience performing in various orchestras and chamber groups before coming together to form Paradiso Musicale. They were joined by violist Emily Chen and clarinetist Michael Johnson, both of whom brought their own unique talents and perspectives to the ensemble. From the beginning, Paradiso Musicale set out to create a new kind of classical music experience that would appeal to a wider audience. They sought to break down the barriers that often exist between performers and listeners, and to create a more intimate and engaging atmosphere for their concerts. To achieve this, they experimented with different concert formats and venues, including performing in non-traditional spaces like art galleries and cafes. One of the highlights of Paradiso Musicale's early performances was their debut concert at the Tenri Cultural Institute in New York City in 2016. The program featured works by Mozart, Brahms, and Schumann, as well as a new composition by David Lee. The concert was well-received by both critics and audiences, and helped to establish Paradiso Musicale as a rising star in the classical music world. Since then, Paradiso Musicale has gone on to perform at a number of prestigious venues and festivals, including the Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and the Newport Music Festival. They have also collaborated with a wide range of artists and organizations, including the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, and the American Ballet Theatre. One of the ensemble's most notable collaborations was with the renowned choreographer Mark Morris, who invited Paradiso Musicale to perform live music for his production of "L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato" at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2018. The production was a critical and commercial success, and helped to further cement Paradiso Musicale's reputation as a versatile and dynamic ensemble. In addition to their performances, Paradiso Musicale has also been recognized for their contributions to the classical music world. They have received numerous awards and grants, including the Chamber Music America Residency Partnership Grant and the New York State Council on the Arts Individual Artist Grant. They have also been featured in a number of publications, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and NPR. Looking to the future, Paradiso Musicale is committed to continuing their mission of bringing classical music to new audiences and breaking down the barriers that often exist between performers and listeners. They are currently working on a new album of original compositions and arrangements, which they hope will further showcase their unique talents and perspectives. Overall, Paradiso Musicale is a classical music ensemble that has quickly established itself as a force to be reckoned with in the classical music world.More....
